Alain Delon retrospective from April 20
The Alliance Francaise (AF), Kathmandu is organising a retrospective of movies dedicated to Alain Delon, French film superstar, at the Russian Center from April 20-24, 1997. The Delon retrospective, to be presented through nine films, offer to the viewer some of his most famous films, including "The Full Heat" of 1959 to "The Return of Casanova" in 1992. As the AF brochure put out by the on the occasion says that these films "underscore the birth and maturity of an exceptional actor through the diversity of his roles - in the opposite dramatic and psychological extremes - and the richness of interpretation of his characters, as well as his ability and his skill of playing in all styles of movies: political, dramatic comedies, historical, action, detective, psychological, romantic, comedy of manners."
All movies are in French, with English sub- titles, and will be screened in 35mm. The films are: The Samurai (7:30 PM, April 20); Melody in Basement (5:30 PM, April 21); The Full Heat (8:00 PM, April 21); Mr Klein (5:30 PM, April 22); The Swimming Pool (8:00 PM); Our Story (5:30 PM, April 23); For A Cop's Hide (8:00 PM, April 23); Three Men To Shoot Down (5:30 PM, April 24); and The Return of Casanova (8:00 PM, April 24).
